The Gay and Lesbian Medical Association held its 25th anniversary in San Francisco October 11-14, 2006 at the Renaissance Parc 55 Hotel. Over eighty students attended the conference from medical schools across the country. In attendance were SMS LGBT-Meds co-presidents John Downey SMSIII and Jason Moss SMSIII; both have represented LGBT-Meds at GLMA conferences in the past. John became involved with the GLMA at their Palm Springs, CA conference in 2004 and Jason attended the Montreal, Canada conference in 2005. Naresh Ramarajan SMSII, Leslie Stewart SMSI, and Lizzy Goldsmith SMSI were also in attendance. In addition, both Jason and Mitchell Lunn SMSII received scholarships from the GLMA to attend the conference this year. The remainder of the students received generous funding from the Stanford University LGBT Community Resource Center.
