LGBT Health Awareness Week 2006

With the National Coalition for LGBT Health, LGBT-Meds participated in the first ever Queer Health Awareness Week 2006.

We hosted a forum entitled The Real Deal from your Queer Peers. It was designed to be a safe forum to address specific questions and concerns that graduate/medical students may have about lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) health.  Questions from Stanford Grad students were answered by members of LGBT-Meds.  Two sides of LGBTQ healthcare were discussed: issues relevant to LGBTQ people, their partners, and families and issues relevant to healthcare workers, lawyers, and business people in the provision of healthcare to LGBTQ patients.
